At last, West Elm opens in Hyde Park and for a couple of reasons it’s truly perfect timing. Other than HomeGoods, TJ Maxx & Marshalls, there are hardly any local & affordable places to score stuff for the house and in particular, decorative pieces for the dinner table (it will be our first holiday as a married couple & first holiday in our first home!). Here’s a look at some of the fabulous rooms & home decor goodies I fell in love with at West Elm.
[pretty sure they got the idea for this pillow from King Max.]
Additionally, the Tampa Trib said in an article this week that a team of developers purchased a controlling stake in Hyde Park, and they have plans to meet with the community ‘to invest and breathe new life into the property.’ Pretty exciting news considering they have plans to embrace independent or quirky-philosophy brands that have been looking for somewhere in Tampa to land, but haven’t found the right place – which is exactly what Tampa needs.
In addition to offering what I have only dreamt of and shopped for online, West Elm brought together a unique group of employees, who I enjoyed chatting with last week. It’s also pretty cool that they do free home consultations, meaning they’ll come out to your house and help you figure out a way to incorporate their inventory in your house. Might be a good option for those that can’t or don’t have time to decorate!
