I stumbled upon these corner braces in the hardware aisle at Lowe’s last weekend and knew they would be so perfect for a DIY project. They came in several sizes & colors, and as the wheels started to turn in my mind, I knew that this particular size would be perfect for a geometric look.
Here’s what I used for my DIY Double Layer Geometric Necklace:
- 2 packets of gold chain from Michael’s Arts & Crafts: $3 each
- 1 package of corner braces from Lowe’s: $3
- Gold lobster claws from Michael’s: $3
- Gold jewelry ring from Michael’s $3

[Step 1: Measure 2 pieces of gold chain & cut at 22"]

[Step 2: Measure 2 pieces of gold chain & cut at 19"]

[Step 3: Loop one 19" chain through one hole of the brace. Loop the other 19" chain through the other hole]

[Step 4: Repeat step 3 with the 22" chain w/ the other brace]

[Step 5: Connect the ends of the chain by looping the ring through the chains]

[Step 6: Attach the lobster claw to one of the rings. Use one lobster claw p/ necklace]
And it’s as easy as that – Under $15 & under 15 minutes.
